There is something so romantic about a beach wedding – maybe it is the salty air or the lulling ebb and flow of the waves crashing against the shoreline. Whatever it is that makes an oceanside wedding that much more wonderful, Amanda and Jim’s wedding was nothing short of spectacular.

The wedding was held at the Wychmere Beach Club in Harwichport, MA. They danced to their first song “Love Me Tender” sung by Norah Jones, which was played by DJ Vic B.

If Amanda and Jim’s proposal story isn’t the real life Grey’s Anatomy then we don’t know what is. When we asked Amanda how it all played out, she said, “Jim had my best friend lure me out of our house for dinner. While I was out he was setting up our backyard with a million candles that spelled out “Will you marry me?” There was music and champagne. He was in a suit. It was perfect. A total surprise. And it’s really hard to surprise me.”

Speaking of engagement, these love birds had not one but two engagement sessions with us! “For our first engagement session Jess met us in a park by our house in Somerville when there was 4 feet of snow on the ground and it was like 9 degrees out. She didn’t even bat an eye. She is such a professional. We also wanted to have some pictures taken without 10 layers of clothes on in Boston, and Jess accommodated that for us as well. We spent an awesome evening in the city – we went to the Public Garden, we took a water taxi, we took pictures by the harbor with the skyline behind us, we even went to the Hong Kong! We had so much fun. I think that the more time you can spend with your photographer, the better. Being comfortable with each other will take your pictures to another level.”

When we asked Amanda what her favorite part of the wedding was, she said, “It was walking down the aisle together after the ceremony, knowing that it was real that we were married! And Jim says his favorite moment was when I walked down the aisle (and didn’t fall)!” YAY for not falling! You were flawless on that aisle.

We always want to make sure that our brides are 100% satisfied with their experience in working with us so when we asked Amanda how she felt about the day this was her response, “Jess, Erin, and Lauren are incredible. It’s like they’ve done this before 🙂 They are willing and able to help with anything you might need on the day of your wedding. Jess had a crochet hook in her bag in case we needed to use it to do all my buttons. This team of girls kept us on track, kept us laughing, and made our day go by so seamlessly. Having them be a part of our day was one of the best decisions Jim and I could have made. We look forward to working with them at every chance we get in the future. And even more, we look forward having them as life long friends.” We love you guys to the moon and back!! xo

As for us, one of our personal favorite moments of the wedding was when LDC had come outside to get our gear and heard a splash in the water. Her initial thought was that it must be a mermaid and went on with her business. But then there was an even louder splash. She managed to capture this video before the mermaid swam away.
